In September 1846 the Báb was arrested again, but, in the
chaotic conditions in Shiraz that followed an outbreak of cholera, He left Shiraz,
and moved to Isfahan. There He remained until March 1847, as a guest of its
governor, Manuchihr Khan, whose sympathetic support seemed to promise a
possible meeting with Muhamm Shah of Persia so that the Báb could proclaim
His claims directly to the king.
